It started on a beach, with a coffee in one hand and… well.

How one morning walk in Santa Barbara turned into the original poop bag case.

The lightbulb moment

"You'd think there'd be something to put it in."

One morning I was watching dog walkers on the beach. So many people held their coffee in one hand and a used poop bag in the other. Yuk!

The more I looked, the more shenanigans I saw. People chatting with a bag of poop swinging from their fingers. Bags abandoned on the sand. Bags hidden behind rocks.

It was actually quite amusing. But one thought kept popping into my head: you'd think there'd be something to put it in.

Well, now there is.

Built in Santa Barbara

Field-tested foam, for a much messier mission

I wanted a case that was light and tough, with a rigid frame. Pop the "package" inside and stop worrying about smells, squishes or accidents.

So I teamed up with award-winning engineers in Santa Barbara. They hold the patent for a tri-laminate thermoforming process. It turns cross-linked closed-cell foam into a rigid, featherlight shell. It's usually used to protect sensitive electronic equipment out in the field.

Now it protects you from your package!

A little ahead of our time

The world has finally caught up

When PoopPac launched, it was a first: a hard case made just for carrying used poop bags. Back then, plenty of people still needed convincing to pick up at all.

Today, everyone picks up. Poop bags are in every pocket. The only question left is the one I asked on that beach. Why are you still carrying it in your hand?
